My early career began as a signwriter, glass gilder and mural artist.
I gained many years experience in signwriting and graphics, continuing to change and develop my skills as the computer-aided graphics industry evolved, having originally studied Fine Art at Liverpool. This led to a career as a graphics software trainer, where I taught others the skills I had acquired.
I have always painted, drawn and sculpted, and am now dedicating myself to my own Fine Art work, mainly painting in acrylics.
I am inspired by the landscape where I live to the north of Bolton. I work outdoors and from my own photographs. I enjoy working in many different styles and approaches, and switch between abstract and directly from life with ease.
My work has been heavily influenced by my career in Commercial Arts, and I am continually discovering new and different approaches to image making.
